Jay is a native of Franklin, Tennessee, and attended Centennial High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee Knoxville before receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the Cecil C. Humphries School of Law at Memphis University. While in law school, Jay clerked for a title company with several offices in Middle Tennessee. Upon graduating from law school, Jay was admitted to practice law in all State Courts in Tennessee. Jay joined Chapman & Rosenthal Title in February of 2008 and focused his practice in the areas of contracts, real property and real property transactions.
